I was raised by an avid golfer, whose age and best score lately is in the mid-70s.

My dad taught me how to golf when I was “yea high.”

I learned all the basics and hit a few rounds on the course with him as I got a bit older.

Golf faded from my life in my teens.

My dad told me that since I had been taught so young I would be able to pick it up at any point.

Well, it’s been over 30 years since I consistently played golf and I recently got the itch to try it out again.

It felt like a good hobby to give me an excuse to be outside, especially since our family is moving this summer* so I’m not going to be able to grow our garden again.

(I’m not alone, it seems that the pandemic restrictions have led to a renaissance for the world of golf.)

Google maps helped me realize there was a golf course 10 minutes from home so I booked a session with one of their pros.

In the weeks leading up to that first session I hit a bucket of balls at the range a couple of times to warm up and test my dad’s theory.

I hit some doozies that sliced one way or hooked another or popped high up in the air only to land a few feet away.

My immediate thought, “Hope no one was watching!”

I also surprised myself by hitting some beautiful shots that went straight and quite the distance.

My immediate thought, “Did anyone see that!?”

This reminded me of entrepreneurship.

When I’ve missed a goal or completely flopped, I hoped no one noticed.

When I meet my goals or even exceed my wildest imagination, I wonder if anyone is paying attention.

Your Challenge For This Week

If you haven’t been sharing your business and life challenges with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs, then you will have a hard time finding a community to celebrate your huge wins.

While it may not be good PR to shout from the rooftops when your business plans flop, never talking about the struggle of owning your own business will lead to feeling very, very isolated.

If you have a community already that provides support when you need it and celebrates wildly when you have a win – count yourself among the fortunate few. I know I do.

Most entrepreneurs (and people in general) are so focused on their own journey they haven’t taken notice of what’s happening in the lives of those around them.

Decide to change that and create space in your life for relationships based on realness instead of only what feels acceptable to post on Facebook.

Try this and let me know how it goes!

Business Growth Strategist & Business Coach

As a relationship-based business growth strategist, I work directly with a limited number of self-employed professionals, aka solopreneurs.

WHO YOU ARE:

You want to have a greater impact and increased income. The problem is that there are so many options for how to build your business that you can feel stuck, overwhelmed, and like you’re running out of time.

The reason options are overwhelming is that you’re looking at them as a series of disconnected steps, when to make the most of your time, you need a strategy that connects only the most important and highest impact ones.

You know that if you try to do everything, you’ll accomplish nothing. This means, to achieve your goal, you have to invest in a strategy to put time on your side.

What’s Included:

As a relationship-based business growth strategist, I will work with you to design a year-long plan that consists of three 12-week sprints, each followed by 4 weeks of reflection/assessment, rejuvenation/vacation, and strategic planning. This will allow you to sequence your goals, create momentum, and leverage your limited time.

We can build your plan through a half-day strategy session, a coaching engagement, or a mastermind program.

These are not right for everyone; they’re personalized offerings and are priced accordingly.
