Last week I shared that a very unlikely thing has happened to me…
I’ve become a seltzer drinker.
Every day, I’m getting used to this new identity and I’ve experimented enough with various flavors that I can now say plain seltzer with fresh lime is all I really need.
This new effort to be mindful of what I’m drinking coincides with another big development in my life.
I started Whole 30 two weeks ago.
If you’re not familiar, Whole 30 is the elimination program where you eat mindfully for an entire month.
It’s not an easy program.
No dairy. No grains. No alcohol. No sugar or sugar substitutes. No beans.
That’s a lot of nos.
What I am having a lot of is kale, cauliflower, and ghee – the latter of which is clarified butter and it feels quite decadent to cook with it.
The only way I’m going to succeed with this program is to plan.
My fridge is stuffed with fresh vegetables, eggs, and chicken breasts. I’m having fun roasting different types of squashes in addition to my go to sweet potatoes.
But what about when I leave the house to meet friends at a restaurant? That’s when planning becomes crucial.
That’s also true when I leave the house to go to a networking event or a conference.
Both times, I need to look ahead to see what’s on the menu – whether that’s reviewing the entrees and side dishes or checking to see who the speakers and honorees will be at the event.
If you’re going to leave the house make sure you’re taking the time to plan first so you are sure to meet your goals – whether they be dietary or networking.
Your Challenge For This Week:
Look ahead at your schedule and start planning for an event you’re going to this week or next. Review who the speakers or organizers are and check social media to see if you have any connections or interests in common.
Send a note to one of the speakers or organizers ahead of the event to let them know you’re looking forward to their talk/event and then be sure to go up to them at the beginning of the event to say hello.
Try this and let me know how it goes!
Business Growth Strategist & Business Coach
As a relationship-based business growth strategist, I work directly with a limited number of self-employed professionals, aka solopreneurs.
WHO YOU ARE:
You want to have a greater impact and increased income. The problem is that there are so many options for how to build your business that you can feel stuck, overwhelmed, and like you’re running out of time.
The reason options are overwhelming is that you’re looking at them as a series of disconnected steps, when to make the most of your time, you need a strategy that connects only the most important and highest impact ones.
You know that if you try to do everything, you’ll accomplish nothing. This means, to achieve your goal, you have to invest in a strategy to put time on your side.
What’s Included:
As a relationship-based business growth strategist, I will work with you to design a year-long plan that consists of three 12-week sprints, each followed by 4 weeks of reflection/assessment, rejuvenation/vacation, and strategic planning. This will allow you to sequence your goals, create momentum, and leverage your limited time.
We can build your plan through a half-day strategy session, a coaching engagement, or a mastermind program.
These are not right for everyone; they’re personalized offerings and are priced accordingly.
